No matter how unassuming a spark plug may seem, its effect on fuel consumption, startability, and engine performance is significant. 
Vehicle manufacturers have determined the optimal spark plug for a bike through extensive testing - so be sure to follow the manufacturer's specifications!

All spark plugs marked with an R have an integrated 5 kOhm suppression resistor, which is only needed if 5 kOhm suppression caps are not already being used. A total of 5 kOhm suppression per cylinder is sufficient; more than 10 kOhm can reduce the spark ignition energy.
