As inconspicuous as a spark plug may be, its effect on fuel consumption, starting willingness, and engine performance is substantial. Vehicle manufacturers have determined the optimal spark plug for a bike through extensive testing – therefore, always adhere to the manufacturer's specifications!
All spark plugs marked with an R have an integrated 5 kOhm suppression resistor, which is only necessary if 5 kOhm suppressor caps are not already being used. In total, 5 kOhm suppression per cylinder is sufficient; more than 10 kOhm can reduce the ignition energy of the spark.
