Motorcyclists know better than anyone else: nothing is as obstructive and dangerous as a fogged visor on a motorcycle helmet.
The old methods, which often resulted in poor visibility, are now being caught up by advancements in technology. The Italian manufacturer Raleri has worked for years on a high-tech solution and is now presenting the most advanced product for this purpose: the LightShade Fogstop and the PCShade Fogstop. Through a combination of revolutionary optical properties and an equally advanced method to seal the air chamber, this dual visor with a special sealing offers the ultimate solution for all visibility problems that motorcyclists may encounter.
The existing anti-fog visors often leave much to be desired, especially in terms of optics. The visibility that the motorcyclist has to settle for through the thick layer of the anti-fog visor is simply poor. In contrast, there are visors that are better optically, but which are too thin to function well even over long periods.
Raleri has therefore started from scratch in developing an optically clear visor - to develop a material that effectively prevents fogging for a very long time and which is thin enough to remain optically clear. The European standard EN 166 7..2.3 states that the material must remain fog-free for 8 seconds in a steam-generating machine. Some top helmets manage to do this for about 30 seconds. The light transmission is measured with a laser beam, meaning it’s about the actual available visibility through the visor. Raleri's products pass this test with flying colors, thanks to a completely new production process. They remain fog-free for a minimum duration of 2 minutes!
To create a fog-free visor, it is necessary to apply a second layer, with the air chamber between the two visors ensuring that it does not fog up. To secure the additional visor, other anti-fog visors use two methods. In the first, small pins and a silicone edge are used for closure. However, this loose placement often causes many consumers to have problems with condensation in the air chamber in practice. The second method is the use of adhesive, which often partially detaches and irreparably damages the original visor, leaving residues on the visor.
In contrast, Raleri visors seal the air chamber between the original visor and the second visor with a unique viscoelastic seal, ensuring the sealing while also allowing the visor to be removed and reattached - without leaving any residues on the original visor.
Absolute fog protection and outstanding optical clarity make Raleri's high-tech products so exceptional that motorcyclists who have tried them once are enthusiastic about them. Another nice example is the decision of the Italian bobsled team to equip themselves with Raleri products. In this active sport, the heavily burdened athletes must rely on 100% visibility in extreme cold.
In addition to the Fogstop Clear + Dark, there is also the PCShade Fogstop, which guarantees optical performance even in changing light conditions - through photochromatic adjustment of the tint of the visor. Within 4 seconds, it changes from clear in the dark to 50% tint in bright light.
