Honestly: With most of the cheap locks, you only symbolically protect your bike. With saws, grinders, or bolt cutters, they can be easily bypassed. A study by Stiftung Warentest shows: At least 60 to 70 francs must be spent to protect your bike with a sturdy lock. With the Abus Bordo 6500A SmartX, we offer a particularly secure version with smart features: Your bike has never been so secure when locked.
The Bordo SmartX 6500A has no key and no combination lock. It is unlocked via Bluetooth/mobile phone.
The battery is powered via USB-C. A single charge lasts for months. Additionally, you receive a notification as soon as it needs to be recharged. If necessary, it is even possible to give the lock a jump start via a power bank.
The necessary app for unlocking the lock is available for Android and iPhone. It automatically connects the lock to the phone as soon as you are near the lock. The installation is straightforward. Central is a card with a QR code, which effectively contains the virtual key for the respective lock. This should be well archived after scanning, as certain adjustments and reinstallations can only be made with it. When the keyless function is activated, it is sufficient to have the phone in your pocket and lean down towards the lock. It will then open automatically. As soon as you move away again, it locks again. The bike is thus securely locked.
Important to know: The Abus gadget is not a tracker. It contains neither GPS nor mobile connectivity. In other words: If you are not within Bluetooth range, you will receive no information about the lock. The nice notifications are only available when you are nearby. The status is displayed just like any potential alarms. And on a map, you can even see where you parked the bike.
The Abus Bordo 6500A SmartX features an integrated alarm system that reacts to movements. Even with small movements, there are a few short but loud warning tones. If nothing further happens, the siren remains silent. This is helpful if, for example, someone accidentally bumps against the bike or a ball flies against it. However, if the lock and the bike are moved further, an alarm goes off: 100 decibels for 15 seconds, then it is armed again. And with renewed movement in one of the three dimensions, there is again deafening noise. And yes, the alarm is really loud. With one click in the app, the alarm can be turned off.
It is possible to grant permission to unlock the lock to multiple people via their phones/apps.
