The reliable base for your Puch engine – for maximum sealing at the cylinder base!
This high-quality cylinder base gasket with a thickness of 0.5 mm is the ideal choice for all Puch Maxi S / N (1-speed automatic) as well as Puch X30 models. It forms the critical interface between the engine case and the cylinder, ensuring that no false air is drawn in – the prerequisite for smooth idle and full power development.
Made from durable, oil- and gasoline-resistant sealing material, this gasket perfectly conforms to the surfaces under pressure. With a thickness of 0.5 mm, it is slightly thicker than standard paper gaskets, making it particularly forgiving of minimal unevenness at the case. Additionally, with this thickness, you can finely adjust the squish clearance of your piston to optimally tune the engine characteristic.
Your benefits at a glance:
Fit accuracy: Precisely punched for the transfer ports of the original Puch cylinders.
Material quality: High-quality gasket paper, extremely resistant to operating fluids.
Reliability: Effectively prevents the intake of auxiliary air.
Versatile: Suitable for all common Puch Maxi and X30 engines (E50 / Z50).
Installation & Care Tips
Preparation: Thoroughly remove all remnants of the old gasket from the engine case and cylinder base. Ensure that no particles fall into the crankcase – a clean cloth over the crankshaft works wonders here.
Check sealing surfaces: Inspect both surfaces for deep scratches or dents. For larger unevenness, a touch of permanently elastic sealing compound can be used in addition to the paper gasket.
Oiling: It’s a tried-and-tested trick to slightly wet the gasket with some two-stroke oil before installation. This makes the material swell slightly and seal more smoothly.
Even pressure: Always tighten the cylinder screws or nuts in a cross pattern. This ensures that the gasket is evenly compressed and prevents the cylinder from tilting.
Recheck: After the first longer ride, it’s advisable to check the cylinder base nuts for tightness, as the gasket may settle slightly due to heat.
